Fagus sylvatica - European Beech

The European Beech (Fagus sylvatica) is a tall deciduous tree native to much of Europe. A very stately and elegant tree that is perfect as as a feature planting or group planted for a woodland forest feel.

Another striking use is as a hedge which can be used to great effect in a formal garden. They need a deep, moist and fertile soil, however it dislikes waterlogged soil.
